Homeruns for Holly was inspired by the late Holly Elizabeth Colwell. Holly was diagnosed with MBC at the age of 32, and underwent cold cap treatments during her chemotherapy. She did not want to look sick to her young children and others. She attended and was honored at our annual Save 2nd Base Wiffle Ball Tournament on August 3, 2019. She threw out the first pitch, played in the games, and enjoyed the day with her family and friends. For each home run hit that day, $25 was raised for the benefit of Holly and all the medical expenses she had incurred. When she learned of this, Holly in turn, said she wanted to help others less fortunate than her. She advocated cold cap treatments for others as well. Just one week later, on August 10, 2019, Holly lost her battle to cancer. We will never forget her strength and willingness to help others, as an EMT, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a mimi, a friend.
